HP is the next company to launch a high-end Windows 10 Mobile, and Microsoft fans should expect the smartphone to be unveiled at MWC 2016 trade fair in Barcelona, Spain, later this month.

The so-called HP Elite X3 leaked for the first time last year, but for a long time, we didn't know whether the smartphone would be released or not.

One of the previous reports on HP's Windows Phone flagship claimed that the company hadn't yet decided whether or not to launch the smartphone.

However, it looks like HP Elite X3 has been given the green light and will be announced very soon, possibly in less than a week.

The first pictures of the phablet have just been leaked courtesy to Tech2, and the device does seem stylish enough, with the exception of the odd speaker grill at the bottom.

Along with the several live pictures of the phone, the complete list of specs has been leaked as well, so we can now confirm that HP Elite X3 will be a beast, at least on paper.

A true flagship smartphone specs-wise

First of all, HP's flagship is said to boast a massive 5.96-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 200GB via microSD card.

On the back, the Elite X3 will pack a 16-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while on the front, there's a secondary 8-megapixel camera for state-of-the-art selfies.

According to the report, HP Elite X3 will feature IP67 dust and water resistance, along with STD810 military MIL-rating.

Furthermore, the phablet will include USB 3.0 Type-C port, Qi wireless charging, fingerprint reader, Continuum for Phone support, and Iris Scanner for Windows Hello.

Naturally, it will ship with Windows 10 Mobile operating system right out of the box. No word on price and availability yet, but HP is expected to offer these details at MWC 2016, so stay tuned.
