App no longer getting any new features on Windows phones

SofaScore is one of the best apps that are no longer being updated on Windows phones because of the dropping market share, but fortunately, there still are ways for those sticking with the platform to access the service and get live scores on their devices.

In a post that went live today, the SofaScore team explains that “SofaScore still offers a lot to Windows Phone users,” explaining that the website that everyone can access with Microsoft Edge “provides an amazing alternative.”

“New features are added regularly and the site operates exceptionally so there are quite a few things to explore for more advanced users,” the post reads.

Truth be told, the SofaScore website indeed provides a very well optimized mobile experience, but this still doesn’t compare with a dedicated app that you can install on your phone and receive notifications whenever your team scores a goal or a new match starts.

SofaScore app still up for grabs

And speaking about the app, Windows 10 Mobile and Windows Phone users can still download the existing version, and the SofaScore team explains that there are no plans to pull it completely from the Store, only that no new features would be added.

“We announced that version 4.1.5.0 was the final SofaScore update for Windows Phone and Windows 10 mobile platforms, and that there will be no new features. The app itself remains available to users as a universal app on Windows Store, but without new features,” they explain.

Of course, it goes without saying that Android and iOS versions of SofaScore will continue getting updates, so switching to another platform is pretty much the best option to always get the latest version of your favorite app.

Unfortunately, the number of devs leaving Windows phones is growing and not even Microsoft seems to be too keen on stopping these, with the company itself showing a lack of interest in launching apps for its mobile platform.
