Suggestions call for Microsoft to adjust the Start screen

Windows 10 comes with both a Start menu and a Start screen, giving users the power to choose which one they like more, and many adopters believe that this is exactly what Microsoft should have done in Windows 8.1 from the very beginning.

In Windows 10, the Start screen is more like a full-screen version of the Start menu, so it boasts a similar look and feature lineup to make sure that you don't need too much time to learn how to use it.

And, surprisingly, it turns out that at least as the Start screen is concerned, Windows 10 users actually liked the Windows 8.1 version more and are now calling for Microsoft to make some changes to the new operating system to make it look like the old version.

Like in Windows 8.1”

The “Start” section in the Windows 10 feedback app has plenty of suggestions that ask for Microsoft to make the feature “like in Windows 8.1” and the first request has more than 2,300 votes.

“Bring back multi-selection of tiles so I can move, unpin, edit size, uninstall multiple tiles at once like in Windows 8.1,” this suggestion reads.

“Add ability to select/edit/move multiple tiles at once like in Windows 8.1,” another similar request with 730 votes reads.

And the Windows 8.1 comparisons do not end here.

“Bring back Windows 8.1's tiles coloring,” 300 users say. “Add option to sync Start screen layout and apps across devices, like in Windows 8.1,” 345 add.

In the end, it's pretty clear that no matter how hard Microsoft tries, it's pretty much impossible to please everyone. The best it can do is offer more options and give users the power to choose what they like the most, but in the end, there will always be someone who doesn't like something.
