The Honor 8 Lite, as the name suggests, is a downgraded version of one of the most popular mid-range smartphones launched by the Chinese company. Wholly-owned by Huawei, Honor specializes in stylish smartphones with mid- to high-end features inside.

It's the second time that Honor launches a “lite” model, as the Chinese company recently unveiled the P8 Lite (2017), another handset that will make it to the market in the coming weeks.

Although the Honor 8 Lite hasn't been officially introduced, German blog Winfuture.de has got ahold of several press renders of the smartphone, as well as information about the hardware under the hood.

As mentioned earlier, this is purely a mid-range smartphone, which will be launched on the market in early March. If the time frame is correct, we're expecting Honor to introduce the device in late February at Mobile World Congress.

According to the cited source, Honor 8 Lite will cost around €280 in Europe, but in the United States it might be priced for sale differently.

When it comes to specs, the phone mixes new and old tech. For example, instead of USB Type C, the Honor 8 Lite packs a microUSB 2.0 port.

The smartphone sports a 5.2-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. On the inside, it's got an octa-core Kirin 655 processor, coupled with 3GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD card).

Honor has decided to include the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system on board, as well as a 3,000 mAh battery, which is meant to keep the lights up.

The Honor 8 Lite is likely to be available in multiple color variations, but we only have confirmation for black and blue at the moment. It might also come with a special cover in the sales package, but that has yet to be announced.
