14 DAY TRIAL // Honor introduced its 6X mid-range Android smartphone back in October, but the phone is only available in China. Yesterday, the company confirmed that Honor 6X would be available globally starting with United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, and other European markets.
The base model will cost €249, but the most expensive variant will go on sale for €299. The Honor 6X will make its debut in the United States as well, where it will sell for $249.99 via HiHonor, Amazon, BestBuy and Newegg.
When Honor confirmed the fact that the mid-range handset would be available in more markets, it also stated that ,while the device ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box, it would eventually receive an Android 7.0 Nougat update.
According to a presentation slide shown during the official announcement at CES 2017, Honor 6X is supposed to receive the highly-anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat update sometime in Q2 2017.
In the meantime, the phone will continue to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 on top. It's worth noting that along with Android 7.0 Nougat, the Honor 6X will also receive an upgrade to EMUI 5.0, the company's new user interface.
As mentioned earlier, the Honor 6X is a mid-range smartphone that sports a more than decent 5.5-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.
The phone comes with a dual-lens camera setup, which consists of 12-megapixel and 2-megapixel rear-facing cameras.
On the inside, the smartphone is packed with an octa-core 2.1 GHz Kirin 655 processor based on the 16nm process, which is complemented by a Mali T830-MP2 graphics processing unit, either 3GB or 4GB RAM, as well as 32GB or 64GB of expandable memory.
Honor 6X is powered by a 3,340mAh battery, which features fast charging technology. A secondary 8-megapixel selfie camera is included too, along with a fingerprint sensor on the back.
