The smartphone comes in multiple color options

Honor has just announced a new smartphone in the Honor 6 series, a device that runs the Snapdragon 435 platform and comes with a 5-inch display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. Aside from the octa-core processor, the phone also features Adreno 505 graphics processing unit.

Honor 6A also comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage or 3GB of RAM and 32GB of memory, depending on the variant. The memory onboard the Honor 6A can be expanded using a microSD card of up to 128GB, according to the listing on VMall.

In addition, the new Honor smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 and features dual SIM support with micro + nano or microSD support. The smartphone also has a rear camera with a 13MP sensor and LED flash, together with PDAF and support for 1080p video recording. In the front, it comes with a 5MP selfie snapper which can also be used for recording videos.

Honor 6A comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back

The phone has a fingerprint sensor on the back, right below the camera setup and it draws power from a 3,020mAh battery, without fast charging or other enhancements. It features support for Bluetooth 4.1 and 4G VoLTE, and it is available in a number of color options, including Gold, Blue, Silver and Pink.

In terms of pricing, the Honor 6A with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage will be sold for about $116, while the 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage option will have a price tag of about $145. Pre-orders for the new smartphone should start today, while the phone’s release date is set for June 1 in China.

Honor 6A is part of the same series as the Honor 6X which made its debut last year, with 4GB of RAM and a 3,340mAh battery, together with a 5.5-inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. Another smartphone, the Honor 9, should arrive soon with a sleek design and small bezels in the front.
