There's a certain type of consumers that still remember Nokia from its glory days and hope for a comeback. Nokia fans aren't looking to buy Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S8 or Apple's next iPhone, but they're anxious to find out what their favorite company has in store for them.

Nokia 6 is just the first Android smartphone that HMD Global announced this year, as the Finnish company promised to reveal more of its plans next month at Mobile World Congress.

But information is not the only thing that the Finnish company will reveal at MWC 2017. There will be a couple of products announced next month, and Nokia fans should expect a flagship to be unveiled as well.

All smartphones that will be revealed by HDM Global at MWC 2017 are likely to be powered by Android operating system, just like the China-exclusive Nokia 6.

While it's pretty obvious why HMD chose Android OS for the Nokia-branded phones that will be launched this year, many fans are wondering if they will benefit from timely software updates like many other handset makers are providing to their customers.

The folks over at NPU have reached out to HMD to find out how the company plans to deliver updates and for how long its smartphones will be supported with major Android OS updates.

Unfortunately, these questions haven't been answered in full yet, but the Finnish company did say that it would provide timely updates and that it would only include the latest version of Android on its devices.

Thanks for the mail and love to see your readers’ interests on our Android smartphones. Our ambition is to always use the latest and safest Android OS. That also includes provide timely updates. We will have more to share in first half of 2017. Stay tuned.”

Even though we've been promised more details in the first half of the year, we expect more info to drop as early as February.
