The development team at IO Interactive is ready to offer gamers a first look at the second episode for the new Hitman reboot, called Sapienza, in action via a launch trailer for the content that will be offered on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 on April 26.

The footage showcases the unique nature of the coastal town in Italy that gamers will have to move through to find and then design a way to eliminate a bio-engineer named Silvio Caruso, who has created a special virus that has the ability to quickly infect large numbers of citizens if deployed in a crowded location.

IO Interactive is not yet willing to talk about the unique opportunities that will be offered to those who go to Sapienza to complete this new mission and it's unclear whether any major gameplay tweaks will be introduced in episode two of Hitman.

According to the studio, a maintenance period is being used to deliver some changes to the title and to make sure that all installations are ready for this new content.

All those who have picked up the Full Experience bundle for Hitman will get Sapienza for free as soon as it is launched and those who have only bought the first episode to see what kind of quality it offers will have to pay 7.99 dollars or Euro.

More locations are coming from IO Interactive in 2016

Sapienza is very different from the initial environment that Agent 47 explored in Paris, and it will be interesting to see how the shift to just one major target will affect the experience.

Before the end of the year, the Hitman reboot is set to also visit Marrakech in Morocco at some point in May, and there are another three episodes coming that will be set in Thailand, Japan, and the United States.

IO Interactive has said that a full retail package associated with Hitman will be offered before the end of the year and suggest that the company is already exploring ideas about the stories that will be offered for the second season.

The new Agent 47 adventure manages to walk a fine line between the freedom of initial entries in the franchise and the guided experience that many modern titles offer, allowing gamers to choose whether they want to get clear guidelines on how to execute a hit or if they simply want to explore the world and find interesting situations on their own.
