Kanye should wait at least 4 years before running, though

Until last month, when a certain fundraiser took place in Los Angeles, few would have put the names Hillary Clinton, Presidential hopeful in the 2016 elections, and Kim Kardashian, reality star, businesswoman and the Internet’s most hated / loved celebrity in the world, in the same sentence.

However, at the fundraiser, which was put together by Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun, the two met. There is a selfie to prove it, of course, as you can see below. Kim was very impressed by Mrs. Clinton, and it seems that the former First Lady was equally so.

Hillary Clinton praises Kim Kardashian

Extra’s Mario Lopez sat down for a chat with Mrs. Clinton, to discuss certain hot topics, like rival Donald Trump and his impressive results in the polls, the role social media plays in her political campaign, and her take on what Kanye West believes is the most famous couple in showbiz, himself and Kim Kardashian.

As it turns out, Mrs. Clinton was impressed by Kim and, yes, indirectly, she does seem to say Kim is a good role model for women. That was Lopez’s question.

“You know, I just met her for the first time,” she says. “She came to one of my fundraisers in Los Angeles, and I really enjoyed meeting her; I really found her to be warm and very personable. She had a nice way of introducing her husband, as if I didn’t know who he was, right, and I enjoy seeing her with her daughter. So I think all of us in our own ways can be inspirational or aspirational for people… and I certainly think many people see her as someone who gets up every day and tries to figure out how to make that day successful.”

Mrs. Clinton says she’s heard about Kanye’s plans to run for President in 2020 and she’s happy he’s not running next year, because she wouldn’t want the two of them to compete.

On the other hand, she criticizes rival Donald Trump for spending most of his campaign saying “inflammatory” things as a distraction from the fact that he’s not really offering solutions to the problems he singles out.

Is Kim Kardashian really a role model?

Mrs. Clinton avoids answering Lopez’s question directly with good reason: whether Kim Kardashian should be considered a role model or not remains a very debated issue.

To her millions of fans who buy her products (and her new app) and who tune in religiously for her reality show, she is a role model: she is the woman who managed to make millions by doing nothing else but being herself. She has no talent to speak of, yet she’s more present in the media than anyone else in showbiz.

To the rest of the world, Kim is the worst today’s Brave New World has got to offer. She’s vapid and shallow, has no talents and no proper education, and has built an empire around her willingness to take hundreds of selfies a day, just to post one on social media. And let’s not forget about the thing that put her on the map, her “leaked” adult tape with former boyfriend Ray J.
