Heroes of the Storm is getting regular updates from the development team at Blizzard, and the most recent one from the studio is designed to introduce the new Tracer hero, taken from Overwatch, to the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena title and to make some tweaks to the other game mechanics.

The new character is designed to be very mobile, able to shoot while moving and with an Ultimate power that gamers can customize in three different ways to make her useful in a variety of situations in the harassment role.

At the moment, Tracer is only offered in Heroes of the Storm to those who have pre-ordered a digital copy of Overwatch, and only next week will she be introduced in the official shop for all those playing the MOBA.

Blizzard is also saying that it has adjusted the way matchmaking works in Heroes of the Storm for Quick Matches. Thus, the system now takes into account the level a player has reached with their chosen character before searching for a game, which should mean gamers will get slightly lower-rated opponents when they first play a hero, and then the competition gets upgraded in terms of skill.

According to the studio, the change is designed to introduce more tension, with the developers saying, "This will result in a higher percentage of evenly matched games, in which each team has a 45% - 55% probability of victory, and should encourage more players to try out a greater variety of Heroes in Quick Match games."

Heroes of the Storm also gets balance tweaks

The new update also introduces a range of other bug fixes and changes to the game, with heroes like Greymane and Artanis now set to be less overpowered when it comes to some of their abilities.

The MOBA also features a new Mute Player Pings option and other user interface improvements that should make it easier for players to get the best experience during matches.

Blizzard says that it wants to make Heroes of the Storm as accessible as possible to new players while making sure that the player community is ready to help newcomers and to offer a welcoming space for fans.

The game is one of the biggest in the MOBA genre and is competing with League of Legends from Riot Games and DOTA 2 from Valve.
