Blizzard says overall match experience will be improved

The development team at Blizzard is announcing that it has been examining data and player feedback and has decided to modify the core elements of Heroes of the Storm so that Hero League is restricted to players who queue alone or in parties of maximum two.

The official announcement states, "When we look at the data for parties of three and four players in Hero League, we often see large skill gaps among party members. This is fine for players in a party of four, for example, who have agreed to queue together despite any differences in skill that may exist."

This creates problems when the system in Heroes of the Storm needs to get another player and the chosen gamer might not want to play with the group that he is attached to, and communication problems also tend to arise.

Blizzard also says that the changes will only affect a small number of players because three and four-member groups in the queue for Hero League are much less infrequent than those of one or two.

The change will come in the new update for Heroes of the Storm and the developers are planning to monitor its effects in order to get a clearer idea about how it affects things.

Blizzard continues to tweak the core mechanics based on fan feedback

Heroes of the Storm is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena title and its evolution depends on the way players react to the changes that the developers are constantly making to the features and the matchmaking.

The heroes included are all based on Diablo, Starcraft and World of Warcraft, and Blizzard says that it wants to continue to add new ones even as it improves the skill set of those already available.

It's unclear at the moment whether the studio has plans to further tweak the matchmaking in coming updates or if it wants to introduce more changes to the mechanics.

Heroes of the Storm has been officially out since June 2 of this year after a long beta period.

The MOBA space is a highly competitive one at this moment, with the Blizzard game up against the better established League of Legends from Riot Games and DOTA 2 from Valve.
