Blizzard confirms that it’s opened back up the Public Test Realm (PTR) for Heroes of the Storm so that fans can experience upcoming additions to the game, like Kharazim the monk, the Infernal Shrines map, not to mention the upcoming balance changes coming to the title.

Last week saw the reveal of all sorts of new things that will soon arrive in Heroes of the Storm over the next few weeks and months. From new characters, such as Kharazim, Rexxar or Artanis, to a new map, new skins, mounts, and much more, fans were able to learn plenty of details.

The Public Test Realm is now live for HotS and features many new things

Now, the first batch of fresh content and changes are available for testing by players on the Public Test Realm (PTR) version of Heroes of the Storm. By accessing this edition of the game, fans can already purchase Kharazim, the Diablo 3 monk, who's the next major character coming to the title.

They'll also be able to enjoy the upcoming Infernal Shrines map, which brings fresh gameplay mechanics, inspired by Diablo 3 as well.

More importantly, the PTR version of Heroes of the Storm features all the upcoming balance changes. These include some serious modifications for heroes like Kael'Thas, Kerrigan, or Raynor, not to mention slightly smaller tweaks for Jaina, Thrall, Abathur, Azmodan, Chen, Brightwing, and much more.

Lots of bug fixes and general improvements are also included, so check out the changelog below, via the official website.

The PTR is set to end next week, when the actual balance patch goes live for the regular version of Heroes of the Storm. It will include Kharazim and the modifications mentioned above, but the Infernal Shrines battleground won't be inside it. Instead, the map is going to appear afterwards, at a certain point in time.

The next other additions to Heroes of the Storm include Rexxar the Warcraft warrior, as well as Artanis, who hails from the StarCraft universe and also fulfills the warrior role. A StarCraft Medic was also confirmed but it's unclear when the character will launch in HotS.
