Blizzard confirms that it's just issued a big wave of account suspensions and even permanent bans to those who resort to using cheats and trainers in Heroes of the Storm, its recently released multiplayer online battle arena experience.

Heroes of the Storm spent 2014 in a closed technical alpha, and the first half of 2015 in a closed beta stage. Finally, at the beginning of June, the full version of the online title launched all around the world for PC users.

Since then, Blizzard has released a wide array of updates and new features for the game, including new heroes, maps, or mechanics.

Blizzard continues to take action against cheaters

Now, the studio confirms on its official forums that another wave of account suspensions and permanent bans has just been issued to those that resort to using cheats or trainer programs in order to gain an unfair advantage in Heroes of the Storm.

The studio emphasizes the importance of a leveled playing field in HotS as well as the fact that it will take serious action against those that threaten to destroy the balance of the online experience.

"Cheating and using hacks while playing Heroes of the Storm or any Blizzard game will not be tolerated. In Heroes of the Storm, cheaters ruin the competitive atmosphere not only for their opponents, but for their allies as well. We recently suspended numerous accounts and issued permanent bans to Heroes of the Storm players who were found to be in violation of the Battle.net Terms of Use for cheating and/or using hack programs," the studio explains.

Blizzard is expected to continue to monitor its online experience and act on any new cheats or hacks that are used by players and nefarious individuals.

Heroes of the Storm will continue to receive new content via themed updates, and the next two characters, Diablo 3's Monk and Leoric the Skeleton King, have already been confirmed to arrive soon enough.
