They say Windows 10 Mobile is dead and the majority of users are already switching to Android and iPhones, but every once in a while, we keep coming across things that prove the contrary.

Case in point is a post on AppRaisin that calls for Windows phone users to vote for a new eBay app for Windows devices developed by a third-party developer who already released two other apps in the store, namely BreadPlayer and HandBook.

The original post asked users whether a third-party eBay app for Windows devices makes any sense at this point, and the response has been unexpected to say the least. The post received nearly 350 votes and 100 comments in just one day, despite all the criticism pointing to users switching sides. And all of this happened on a platform that’s not necessarily being used for feedback and which does not belong to Microsoft.

Loyal users

eBay removed its app for Windows phones last year, so users who want to connect to the service need to turn to the browser. And while this alternative does its job very well, it goes without saying that an app would come in much handier, especially because of extra features like notifications, a live tile, and quicker access to all sections.

“The question is do you still want an eBay app? Are there any users who still use eBay on WinPhone? Please upvote so that I may know there is an audience. If there are enough votes, I may begin development on such an app,” the developer asked.

The majority of users who posted in the comment section said a new eBay app would be more than welcome, though some expressed concerns over providing their credentials in a third-party app.

The more important thing, however, is that the user response has been fantastic for an app that not everyone uses, on a feedback platform that not everyone knows, and at a time when everyone seems to be abandoning Windows phones, confirming once again that there are many users out there who want to stick with Windows phones despite Microsoft’s dropping interest.

With this being said, it’s no surprise that so many people are upset with Joe Belfiore praising the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the iPhone on several occasions.
