Immediately after having released the first Public Beta build of the forthcoming Mac OS X 10.11 "El Capitan" computer operating system, which is also the third Beta release for developers, Apple seeded the first Public Beta release of the anticipated iOS 9 mobile operating system for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices.

A couple of days ago, we published a tutorial instructing our users on how to jump ship and upgrade to the Mac OS X 10.11 "El Capitan" Public Beta release from the current stable version of Apple's OS for Macintosh hardware, Mac OS X 10.10.4 "Yosemite," so the time has come for you to learn how to install the iOS 9 Public Beta build.

Before anything else, please make sure that your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch device is supported by the iOS 9 operating system, and that you are running the latest stable release of Apple's mobile operating system, iOS 8.4. Also, keep in mind that iOS 9 is a pre-release piece of software and some things won't work as expected and you might encounter bugs.

Here's how to install iOS 9 Public Beta

To begin, you will have to go to the Apple Beta Software Program website, sign in with your Apple ID (make sure it is the same ID you are using on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch device where you want to install iOS 9 Public Beta), and enroll your device(s) by clicking on the "enroll your iOS Device" link posted by Apple on the Getting Started section.

You will have to login again with your Apple ID after clicking the respective link, make sure that your device has a recent backup, and then access the https://beta.apple.com/profile website on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch device where you want to deploy iOS 9. There, you will be prompted to download and install a profile. Once the profile has been installed, you will see the iOS 9 Public Beta update.

Click the "Download and Install" button, agree with the license agreement that will appear, and wait for the download to finish. Make sure that your device is plugged into a charger before attempting to apply the update. During the installation process, your device will reboot a few times. Enjoy iOS 9!
