Bynes is under conservatorship, has no access to her money and can’t rent an apartment, so she’s been sleeping in malls

Amanda Bynes has been released from the mental institution where she was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold (a 5150) and is now under her parents’ conservatorship again, for the second time in 2 years. However, she is not living with them anymore.

Because there is no other way they can make sure she doesn’t squander her hard-earned money away, her parents are keeping her on a very tight leash, only giving her money for food on a daily basis. Because she doesn’t want to go live with them, as they probably hoped would happen, and she can’t rent an apartment, she is practically living on the streets.

Heidi Montag is here to lend her a helping hand.

Bynes’ situation is looking “dire”

Only a few hours ago, photos were released online showing Amanda sleeping on a couch inside a Beverly Hills mall. She had her sunglasses on and a thick jacket, but no socks. The report that accompanied the pics claimed that this was basically her only option right now, and suggested that she was “homeless.”

As you can see from Amanda’s tweets below, she insists she was only napping: that is to say, she just happened to fall asleep, it’s not like she went to the mall on purpose, to catch some shut-eye.

She also explains that she can’t rent an apartment with the kind of money her parents give her, and shows her anger at being forced to live on pennies when she’s a millionaire. Which she is, make no mistake about it: her worth is estimated at around $7 million (€5.64 million).

“[My parents] are miserable in their life and I will fight to get control of my finances taken away from them!” Amanda laments.

Help comes from where you least expect it

This last tweet prompted a reply from Heidi Montag, best known to fans for her role on MTV’s The Hills, that reality show that was believed to be fake from start to finish and eventually turned out to be that way.

“You are more then welcome to crash in our guest house in Santa Barbara if you need somewhere to stay! ♥ DM me!” Montag tweeted. For whatever reason, Heidi has deleted it since, but GossipCop confirms it was online for a while.

You might have heard that Montag is about to make a comeback to reality television, with husband Spencer Pratt, on Celebrity Marriage Boot Camp. Publicly reaching out to a troubled celebrity who seems to have hit rock bottom and is getting a lot of media attention for it doesn’t seem like such a selfless gesture when you think about it in this context, does it?

If Montag really wanted to help, she could have just DM-ed Amanda if, say, she didn’t have her number to call her up with the offer in person.
