14 DAY TRIAL // For years, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, known collectively as Speidi, have been struggling to regain at least a resemblance of the success they enjoyed when they starred on MTV’s The Hills. Their latest endeavor includes “mentoring” aspiring celebrities in what fame entails, and it’s already proving a disaster.
Then again, if anything, these 2 know better than any other reality star out there that controversy and disaster is what best sells with today’s audiences. They might have a hit on their hands still.
Heidi and Spencer are back, as outrageous as ever
Speidi came to international media attention in 2005 on The Hills and they would spend the next 5 years or so slowly but surely working their way towards becoming tabloid fixtures.
This might not seem like a huge accomplishment, but they managed to make a fortune by tipping off paparazzi to their location and getting in the glossies on a daily basis. To their bad luck, they spent it just as quickly as they’d made it, on Heidi’s failed music career and plastic surgery addiction, and on Spencer’s car and crystal collections.
Today, Heidi and Spencer are broke and desperate for cash, and that means that they would do just about anything to make money. They have had appearances on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Celebrity Marriage Boot Camp, and a couple of shows that barely registered with the audiences and were consequently canceled shortly after the premiere.
According to TMZ, their new show is now in production and will see them as “mentors” to up-and-coming entertainers, advising them every step of the way on what being a celebrity really means.
They haven’t been doing such a great job so far.
Heidi is drunk, obnoxious
Embedded below is a video of Heidi and one of the young entertainers she’s mentoring, a comedian named Deena Jacobs, in a club in Los Angeles.
Deena did a little stand-up number for the small crowd before Heidi stumbled up on stage telling her that she needed to continue.
Deena obviously disagreed and became very annoyed with Heidi, who seemed intoxicated and kept “twerking” in front of her. As you can see in the video, she couldn’t even stand there and wait for Heidi to be done, so she walked off stage while Heidi continued to embarrass herself.
Then again, as noted above, knowing Heidi and Spencer, this could have very easily been a stunt meant to cause more drama for the series. They learned the importance of creating drama on the best show out there: The Hills was almost 100% fake, as all its starts would admit after it wrapped.
