The development team at 343 Industries might be busy working on the high-profile Halo 5: Guardians, but the company apparently still has time and resources to dedicate to the improvement of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which will get at least one major new content update in the coming months.

The information comes from the Halo Waypoint, but at the moment no details on it are being offered.

343 Industries has recently added a new Action Sack playlist to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which seems to be a hit with the community and other new ones are being planned by the company.

It seems that Head-to-Head is not a big possibility at the moment and gamers are encouraged to offer more feedback about the game in order to make it easier for the studio to improve it when it delivers content drops and updates.

343 Industries makes it clear that most of its resources are dedicated to Halo 5, stating, "There are exciting new battlegrounds being built, weapons being tweaked, tuned, and skinned, and plenty more that we are looking forward to sharing with you in the coming months."

Halo: The Master Chief Collection offers all the core titles in the franchise on the Xbox One

The game is important because it represents the best way to experience the history of the series for those who do not own an Xbox 360.

All the titles are offered with improved graphics and with gameplay-focused tweaks.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection had major problems when it launched in late 2014, but since then, the developers have fixed the technical issues and the matchmaking and have offered all the ODST content, which was missing on launch.

The announced plans for a new content drop are a clear indication that 343 Industries and Microsoft are expecting to see an increase in its sales when the new Halo title launches.

It's unclear whether the two companies are aiming to give away the DLC in order to make the game more attractive or if they will charge for it.

Halo 5: Guardians will be offered on October 27 on the Xbox One home console.
