The playing field is fairer for the entire community

Halo: The Master Chief Collection might be close to one year old, but there's still a solid community of players that enjoys it and the developers at 343 Industries are determined to make the experience as solid as possible for them, with a new tweak coming that will improve the use of the Reputation system for the Xbox One home console.

The studio explains that some gamers have been cheating by using player blocks to make sure that they avoid capable opponents on some playlists, which is not how the concept was supposed to work when it was initially introduced.

In order to make sure that the move no longer produces results, the Microsoft teams has tweaked the entire system to make sure that blocks are ignored on Halo 2: Anniversary, Team Doubles, Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4, and Team Hardcore.

343 Industries adds, "These playlists will no longer respect the list of players you’ve blocked, meaning if you keep losing to someone named frankie, you won’t be able to simply block them to avoid matching with them again. Blocking frankie will, however, mean you won’t get messages or be able to chat with him, and as always, if you do encounter a player who creates a negative experience, you can still leave the appropriate feedback for this player."

Player behavior and feedback linked to the changes will be taken into account, as the studio and Microsoft will try to find better ways to use Reputation in Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

The franchise will get a major new installment this fall

Halo: The Master Chief Collection had some major issues when it was first launched, but the development team and Microsoft have delivered a major range of updates in order to improve matchmaking and other core elements.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is the only way to experience the first four titles in the big franchise on the Xbox One, which means that it will receive more attention from players this fall, as the new installment in the series arrives.

Halo 5: Guardians will be offered on the Microsoft-made device on October 27.

The new game will deliver a Master Chief and Agent Locke powered story that also supports a full set of cooperative mechanics.

The multiplayer mode will introduce both new modes like Warzone and a range of new abilities for Spartans.
