The development team at 343 Industries might be focused on the work that Halo 5: Guardians requires before launch, but the studio is also keen to keep gamers interested in the wide universe that the video game series has created.

A new lore-focused update on the official Waypoint site offers information on a range of books and other content associated with it, and it also teases some of the content that might be featured in the new installment of the shooter franchise.

343 Industries offers information about the Councilors and the way they chose to side with the Arbiter or to become leaders of the new Sangheli lead Covenant, with some of them potentially leading small factions even after the end of the war.

The team also suggests that Kojo Agu, aka Romeo, might be part of the coming Halo 5: Guardians, talking about his assignments and about the way they performed in the Office of Naval Intelligence after the events of Talista 2555.

343 Industries states, "Testing a prototype GEN2 DEADEYE-class Mjolnir armor system, Spartan Agu succeeded in neutralizing the enemy over the four-day operation. Following the mission’s success, Agu was assigned to a new Spartan-IV fireteam, whose identity and operations remain classified."

Gamers can also read an explanation about the flora and fauna of the Installations and how they evolved over time.

Halo 5: Guardians is accompanied by novels and comics

Lore is becoming ever more important for Microsoft and 343 Industries as the launch of Halo 5: Guardians gets near, and it is sometimes hard for gamers to keep track of all the details associated with it.

The game will attract both long-term fans of the franchise, who are familiar with the narrative and many details, and gamers who have not engaged with Master Chief before in any way.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which is getting more updates even close to one year after launch, is a good way for newcomers to catch up.

Microsoft is also delivering more novels and comic books associated with Guardians, although it seems that there are no plans to offer more video content.

Halo 5: Guardians is set to be launched only on the Xbox One on October 27.
