Developer 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft are introducing a lot of innovation for the multiplayer of Halo 5: Guardians, and one of the biggest tweaks is the new REQ system, which is designed to deliver a constant stream of rewards for gamers who are performing well in their matches.

The official site provides us with more details on the amount of resources that gamers will have when they start playing the game, with the two companies offering them access to an initial bundle with 54 cards and 7,500 REQ points.

They can be used to buy either six Bronze packs or a combination of one Silver and two Bronze, which should give every Halo 5: Guardians player some interesting choices when it comes to equipping their characters.

A REQ pack will be delivered to a gamer each time they manage to gain a new Spartan Rank, which is a function of getting experience by simply playing, with good performance netting a faster rate of advance.

Goals come in the form of Commendations in Halo 5: Guardians, and gamers who manage to attain one will get a boost in XP and a new package of REQ cards.

343 Industries and Microsoft are also planning to run a promotion for the shooter that will include codes that can unlock specific content.

Halo 5: Guardians also allows gamers to spend real-world money

The two companies are saying that gamers will be able to get an average of 2,000 RP for a Warzone match and around 1,000 for one played in the Arena mode.

In the official Halo 5: Guardians store, gamers can pick up Bronze packs, which include Common cards and can unlock a permanent one, available for 1,250 RP.

The Silver tier delivers common to rare REQs and can be obtained for 5,000 RP or for 1.99 dollars or Euro.

For those who want to get more cards and a guarantee of two permanent ones, the Gold pack is available in the store, costing 10,000 RP or 2.99 dollars or Euro.

1,000 REQs are offered on launch, and 343 Industries says that hundreds more will arrive once the game is live, with a portion of the profits linked to their sale funding the Halo World Championships event.

Halo 5: Guardians is coming to the Xbox One on October 27 of this year.
