The new Halo 5: Guardians downloadable content pack is about one week away from launch, and the development team at 343 Industries is ready to offer a little more information about Ghosts of Meridian and the new kind of REQ cards that gamers will be able to use.

The official site update offers a look at the results of the recent Halo World Championship, which was won by CLG and saw the announcement of the Pro League, designed to keep fans of the shooter engaged with its eSports side.

343 Industries also explains Ghosts of Meridian will introduce a range of new content and that, "The MP team continues work on new modes, has recently updated Torque and the Mantis REQ level, and just today, based on feedback, we’ve loosened the parameters within social playlists to make them feel 'a bit more social' and also added some of our favorite community maps to BTB and Grifball."

The new Warzone map offered in the DLC pack is called Skirmish at Darkstar, and players also get a look at the new REQ cards that they can use, which include Tartarus' Gavel, Hannibal Scorpion, Dynast armor, and the Hannibal Mantis.

343 Industries also promises tweaks for both Warzone and Arena modes, weapons updates, among which tuning for the Spartan laser, changes to the user interface, and Forge improvements.

Halo 5: Guardians will continue to offer content all through 2016

There are new fan-made maps that gamers can now play in both Big Team Battle and Grifball, including Altar by WyvernZu, Boulevard from alex quit, Eagle Square by SHIFTY time, Fracture by Squally DaBeanz, Scavenger from CommanderColson, and Viking by no god anywhere.

Moreover, worth mentioning are: Bloodsport from NLTROOO and Creative F0rce, Blue vs Red 2003 from JA50N 0, The222v and ImDuhUnicorn, Crow's Court by xNFx Monsta and RBG Persian, Grif Temple by Caustic Kirby, Frontier by CaptainPunch374 and Creative F0rce, High Charity by Darkprince909 and Creative F0rce, Sandwich from Darkprince909 and Creative F0rce, The Arbiter's Court from guss br and Underpass by Katanga.

That's a lot of new content for gamers to take a look at as they are preparing for the Ghosts of Meridian DLC delivery.

343 Industries has said that it wants to offer free content updates for the shooter all through the year, with one of the highlights being the arrival of the new Warzone Firefight mode, which is expected in the middle of summer.
