Halo 5: Guardians might be close to its launch date, but the development team at 343 Industries continues to tweak some pretty fundamental elements of the shooter, recently replacing the voice actor for main character Agent Locke.

He was initially voiced by Mike Colter, who also portrayed him in the Nightfall live-action series, but the actor chose to move to television in order to play the main role in a new Luke Cage series, which will take up all his time.

343 Industries has chosen to bring in Ike Amadi, and some gamers have quickly moved to criticize the way he delivers his lines.

Frank O'Connor, the franchise development director, has taken to the NeoGAF forums in order to answer those who believe he is unfit for the role of Agent Locke in Halo 5: Guardians, saying that gamers will soon have a chance to see how he inhabits the character.

He adds, "Ike Amadi has an amazing voice and you’re wrong scientifically. Listen to some other examples."

O'Connor also offered an explanation for the fact that Master Chief's visor seems to light up when he becomes conscious, saying that it is basically only going through different settings, which means that it does not contradict already established cannon.

Halo 5: Guardians will integrate a large amount of lore

343 Industries has said that it wants to use the story of the new game to take gamers to new places, like Sanghelios, which were mentioned before but never shown on screen.

The extra lore will also be present in the two squads designed to allow gamers to play cooperatively, the Blue Team for Master Chief and Fireteam Osiris for Agent Locke.

As Halo 5: Guardians arrives, the developers and Microsoft are also expanding the universe of the franchise with a new series of novels and comic books.

Agent Locke will be used to offer more context, a role that Cortana previously had, and he offers an entirely new take on some of the events that we previously saw only through the eyes of Master Chief.

Halo 5: Guardians is set to arrive on October 27 only on the Xbox One and fans can also pick up a special version of the console that uses a special theme based on the game.
