The development team at 343 Industries might be celebrating Thanksgiving in Halo 5: Guardians with its fans, but they also know that constant support is required to keep the shooter relevant in the long-term, and they are already exploring the possibilities for December.

Once Battle of Shadow and Light was launched, the studio evaluated the feedback offered by the fan base and the data it tracked and decided to deliver a quick hotfix that deals with problems with bookmarks for both Theater and Campaigns, which were negatively affected.

For the future, 343 Industries says that it is continuing to evaluate a wide range of game features, including user interface, customization, glitches for Warzone, spawns in Big Team Battle and spectator tools.

Neither of them is guaranteed to be tweaked in the December update for Halo 5: Guardians, but the studio is promising that new maps will be included, as well as extra REQ cards and maybe even a new mode.

A full reveal will probably take place this week, and the patch is expected to arrive on December 15.

During the month, gamers will also get access to the special Forge editing tools, which can be used by the most engaged members of the community to put together their content and then share it.

343 Industries and Microsoft are also allowing gamers to 3D print their favorite Spartan character, with all those interested asked to log into their Xbox Live accounts to launch the special Sandboxr collaboration tool.

New lore suggests expansive future for Halo 5: Guardians

In an official site update, the company offers more information about the Mjolnir 2 armor and the various versions that gamers can see in the Master Chief-powered shooters.

343 Industries explains, "the techsuits underpinning the GEN2 Mjolnir found in multiplayer variants of Halo 5: Guardians and Halo 4 can be considered the 'baseline' GEN2 techsuits, seen most ubiquitously across Spartan ranks. There are instances however when certain fireteams or individual operatives are outfitted with customized techsuits that contain a host of undisclosed improvements or modifications to fit particular mission parameters or operator need."

The explanation suggests that a wide variety of extra armor can be integrated into the REQ card system for Halo 5: Guardians in the future, giving gamers ways to customize their Spartans both cosmetically and regarding capabilities.

343 Industries has said that it wants to make all the maps that will arrive for the shooter during its first year of life free to make sure that the community remains united.

At the same time, the studio will deliver a constant stream of REQ cards, including new armor, more weapons, and extra vehicles, and gamers can get them both by playing or by using real-world money to get access to packs.

This revenue stream means that long-term support for Halo 5: Guardians is more feasible and that the developers and Microsoft can use extra funds to make the coming World Championships, which will also have their qualifiers in December, more attractive when it comes to prizes.
