Video game developer 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft are announcing that they are partnering with Hendrick Motorsports and Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates to take Halo 5: Guardians to a NASCAR event with two exclusive paint schemes.

Master Chief and Spartan Locke vehicles will be driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jamie McMurray at the Kansas Speedway on October 18 during the Hollywood Casino 400 event.

Kiki Wolfkill, the leader of Halo Interactive Entertainment, states on the Xbox Wire that "We’re thrilled to partner with Hendrick Motorsports and Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates to have Halo 5: Guardians represented on the NASCAR track by two of its most exciting drivers. We have many NASCAR fans at the studio - myself included - and we’re excited to see both cars compete at Kansas Speedway."

The idea is to use two of the best-known drivers in the competition to represent on the track the way that Master Chief and Agent Locke will move across the universe of the series in the coming Halo 5: Guardians.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., who drives the No. 88 Chevrolet SS for Hendrick Motorsports, and Jamie McMurray, driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet SS for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates, have both expressed delight at being able to turn their cars into the two characters.

From October 8, the involved companies are also launching sweepstakes linked to the game and the race, with gamers asked to follow the two pilots on Twitter if they want to take part.

Halo 5: Guardians has also been part of a football match

Microsoft is creating a lot of novel marketing vehicles for its coming shooter, recently putting it on the jerseys of the Seattle Sounders during one of their matches and launching two television spots that offer different perspectives on the campaign.

The company is also delivering regular episodes for the Hunt the Truth podcast, which offers more details about the state of the world and introduces some new characters.

Recently 343 Industries and Microsoft have also revealed the Forge that will be added to Halo 5: Guardians in December for free, giving players access to a set of tools with which to develop and then share their own maps.

The next Master Chief adventure will be out on the Xbox One on October 27.
