A hacker known as Peace_of_mind is selling account details for 40,769,652 users that registered on the Fling.com adult dating portal, Joseph Cox reported today.

The ad cropped up on the Dark Web marketplace The Real Deal during the past days, and the hacker is asking for 0.6450 Bitcoin, which is $295 at today's exchange. The data was previously sold for 0.8888 Bitcoin, or $400.

Emails, passwords, sexual preferences up for sale

The data included in the for-sale packet includes details such as the user's email address, his username, his account password in cleartext, IP addresses the user used in the past and his date of birth.

As with any adult dating website, details about his sexual preferences were also part of the peddled data.

A Fling.com representative confirmed some of the data's authenticity but also said it was part of a five-year-old data breach that took place in 2011.

Cox says that he was able to confirm only 61 emails of the 101 addresses included in the sample data provided by the hacker. He says that some of the accounts appeared to belong to site admins because they had the "admin_disabled" flag turned off.

The hacker has a history of high-profile hacks

Last month, the hacker Peace_of_mind was selling details for 3.8 million users registered on the Naughty America adult network.

Back in February, he was selling the Linux Mint forum database on the same marketplace. Many suspected him of being the man behind the infamous Linux Mint forum hack, or that he supplied the details needed for someone else to compromise the forum and then the Linux Mint ISOs.

This is not the first time when an adult dating network is breached. The same thing happened to the BeautifulPeople portal as recently as last week, but also to Mate1 at the start of March, and Adult Friend Finder and Ashley Madison last year.
