More A-list actresses are speaking out on the topic of the pay gap in Hollywood, as part of a larger discussion on feminism and sexism in the industry. Gwyneth Paltrow is one of them, in an interview with Variety.

The conversation was started after last November’s Sony Hack, which, among other things, revealed that Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams had been paid less than Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper and Jeremy Renner for “American Hustle,” even though they had the same amount of screentime.

Since then, there have been more efforts to underline the discrepancies, with actresses like Charlize Theron, Meryl Streep and Patricia Arquette speaking out and sharing their own experiences.

Gwyneth Paltrow can relate, because she too was paid less for “Iron Man” than her co-star Robert Downey Jr.

By the way, he’s the highest paid actor in Hollywood for 2015, with a payday of $80 million (€71.1 million), a large chunk of it comes from his involvement as Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Look, nobody is worth the money that Robert Downey Jr. is worth,” Gwyneth says. “It can be frustrating. It can be painful. Your salary is a way to quantify what you’re worth. If men are being paid a lot more for doing the same thing, it feels [expletive].”

That first part of Gwyneth’s Paltrow can be read either to mean that only RDJ is worth the money RDJ gets, or that no one should be paid this much, no matter who they are. Which do you think she had in mind?
