The development team at Rockstar has announced that it plans to deliver a new Lowriders update for the Online mode in Grand Theft Auto V, designed to deliver a range of new vehicle-based content to the open world experience.

With the files associated with the patch now available, the community has quickly investigated them for other hints about the future of the title, and it seems that a Halloween event is being planned, even if the studio has not offered any details about it so far.

Yan2295, who is one of the modders working with GTA V, says on Twitter that a special file called mphalloween is included, with the name clearly referring to some special content linked to the holiday, which will take place on October 31.

There are apparently 12 special masks, based on popular monsters that gamers will be able to wear and the various pedestrians included in the open-world title will also have tweaks to their appearance.

The files associated with the Lowriders update for GTA V also shows that there are two new vehicles being introduced, one of them a hearse and another a throwback sports design, according to the Twitter of ZZCool.

Gamers will apparently also be able to use a new flashlight weapon, although it's unclear whether it will be offered for a limited time or not, and a machete also joins the arsenal for hand-to-hand action.

A gun will also be coming to GTA V, but the characteristics associated with it are yet unclear.

Rockstar is not yet commenting on the rumored Halloween content that might arrive for its game, but it might make an official announcement before the end of the week.

Gamers should get ready for some spooky events

Rockstar has long maintained that it wants to deliver less in-house created content for GTA V as it puts more creation tools in the hands of the player community and encourages them to create, present, improve and then share their own missions.

For Halloween, the company will probably just add a number of new vehicles and weapons while challenging the fans to use them in interesting ways to make the occasion an interesting one.

Until then, gamers will be able to play around with the new lowrider vehicles, which can be obtained from a new shop and come complete with some new options, including neons and hydraulics.

The Lowriders update also delivers some new missions for gamers to enjoy and extra weaponry for them to use when they need to bring superior firepower.

The development team at Rockstar has said that it is currently not planning to deliver a single-player piece of downloadable content for GTA V because it is focusing all its energy on making sure that the Online mode appeals to as many players as possible.

The game is a solid best-seller for the studio and for publisher 2K Games and has managed to attract a lot of players on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and older consoles, although they are no longer getting new content because of some technical limitations.
