GStreamer 1.10.1 brings many bug fixes and improvements

On November 17, 2016, the development team behind the powerful, open-source and cross-platform GStreamer multimedia framework announced the availability of the first point release for GStreamer 1.10.

GStreamer 1.10 is the latest stable and most advanced branch of the project, bringing a large number of new features and improvements, among which we can mention Vulkan API support on the next-gen Wayland display server, brand new gst-docs and gst-examples modules, and an experimental new Meson-based build system.

Furthermore, GStreamer 1.10 introduced support for VAAPI (Video Acceleration API) plugins, V4L2 (Video4Linux), Bluetooth, Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) and Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP), along with echo cancellation and audio conversion support and a new parsebin element for automatic unpacking and parsing of streams.

GStreamer 1.10.1 is now the first maintenance update to the major series, bringing numerous bug fixes to improve the stability and reliability of the open-source multimedia framework. It adds two month's worth of improvements and it's a recommended update for everyone.
