After announcing the demise of the 32-bit support for their ethical hacking and penetration testing GNU/Linux distribution, BlackArch Linux developers released a new ISO snapshot with various improvements.

The BlackArch Linux 2017.11.24 ISO snapshot is now available to download as the latest for the ethical hacking/pentesting distro, adding more than 50 new hacking tools, which tops the total number of supported tools to 1,910.

This release also bumps the kernel to Linux 4.13.12 and updates all in-house built BlackArch tools and core components. In addition, BlackArch Linux 2017.11.24 ships with the latest BlackArch Installer v0.6, and includes various tweaks and cleanups.

BlackArch Linux now fully synced with the Arch Linux repos

BlackArch Linux is based on the popular and widely-used Arch Linux operating system, which means that with every new ISO snapshot, all the system packages get synced with the upstream software repositories, bringing the most recent security patches and fixes.

On top of that, this release updates the menus of all pre-installed window manager, including Awesome, Fluxbox, and Openbox, to reflect the newly added tools in their respective categories. It should also be noted that various smaller bugs were resolved.

BlackArch Linux 2017.11.24 is also the first ISO snapshot to be released only for 64-bit computers and 32-bit hardware is no longer supported by the BlackArch project, following on the upstream decision to deprecate 32-bit support.

However, the new ISO snapshot is here only for those who like to run BlackArch Linux straight from the live medium or want to deploy the GNU/Linux distribution on new PCs. Existing users need only to run the "pacman -Syyu --needed --force blackarch" command to update.

You can download BlackArch Linux 2017.11.24 live ISO image for 64-bit PCs right now from the distro's website or though our web portal if you want to use one of the best Linux-based operating systems for your any of your ethical hacking and penetration testing tasks.
