"Nothing but the very best will satisfy Rockstar," Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick says

The PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V are underway, and they will far exceed fan expectations, according to publisher Take-Two.

Take-Two Chief Executive Officer Strauss Zelnick believes that the upcoming next-gen editions of the open-world action-adventure title will take the world by surprise, because "nothing but the very best will satisfy Rockstar."

Developer Rockstar Games' long-standing series is one of the most successful franchises in the industry, and the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game have already sold over 34 million copies all around the world.

However, Zelnick believes that the series can do much better, and that out of the 7 billion people on Earth, they still have over 6.9 billion to address.

"They want to blow consumers away. Whatever the expectation is, they want to exceed it. When you see GTA 5 on next-gen, I want you to tell me whether it is or isn't better than your expectation. I can guarantee it will be better," Zelnick told MCV.

"It's a massive market and an amazing title. GTA is the standard bearer in the industry. How can you buy a next-gen console and not want to play GTA on it?" he concluded.

Grand Theft Auto V is coming to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC platforms later this autumn, with multiple retailer listings pointing to either November 7 or November 14 as the release date.
