14 DAY TRIAL // A few minutes ago, on January 19, 2016, the Zorin OS developers were extremely happy to announce the release and immediate availability for download of the first Beta build of the upcoming Zorin OS 11 computer operating system.
Being based on Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf), Zorin OS 11 will be released later this year with a completely revamped desktop environment. The fact of the matter is that the entire Zorin OS experience will be overhauled with a new look and feel, new tools, and much more.
As you can see from the gallery attached at the end of the article, Zorin OS 11 Beta ships with improved versions of the applications used by default in the operating system, some new apps, such as Contacts for managing your contacts, Clocks for better alarms (includes stopwatch, multiple timezone display, and timer), and a beautiful video player.

Zorin OS looks better than ever
Besides the new apps, the Zorin OS devs managed to improve the default theme and artwork for the upcoming distribution, stating that Zorin OS looks better than ever. In Zorin OS 11 Beta, users will find a brand new Grey version of the Zorin OS theme, which is available in Black, Dark and Light variants, accessible from the Zorin Theme Changer.
Under the hood, Zorin OS 11 Beta is powered by Ubuntu 15.10's Linux 4.2 kernel packages, which offer better support for the latest hardware components. There are also numerous system tweaks applied to this first Beta release of Zorin OS 11, for an increase in the overall performance of the system.
Last but not least, the Zorin OS tools are present in Zorin OS 11 Beta for ultimate ease of use.
