The Manjaro community was happy to announce the release and immediate availability of download of the Manjaro Linux Enlightenment 16.04 Community Edition operating system.

Based on the latest stable branch of the Arch Linux-based Manjaro Linux OS, Manjaro Linux Enlightenment 16.04 Community Edition is now built on top of the Enlightenment 20 desktop environment/window manager.

It is powered by the latest long-term supported Linux 4.4.6 kernel, adds the SDDM login manager, uses the Thus graphical installer, and enables non-free drivers and multilib support for the 64-bit ISO images.

"Enlightenment 20 is more suited for users already familiar with Linux. Manjaro-E20 aims to be light, fast and resource friendly, yet at the same time complete and ready to use for all typical everyday office- and multimedia needs," said the developers in the forum announcement.

Beautifully crafted Enlightenment E20 desktop with top-notch apps

The first thing you'll notice when you fire up the Live ISO of the Manjaro Linux Enlightenment 16.04 Community Edition operating system is the beautifully crafted Enlightenment E20 desktop environment, which consists of the Ardis icons, as well as the Manjaro Dark, Blue Sky, and Onix themes.

But the beautiful Enlightenment E20 desktop is accompanied by a great collection of open-source software, among which we can mention the GIMP image editor, Viewnior image viewer, Mousepad text editor, Mozilla Firefox web browser, Transmission BitTorrent client, HexChat IRC client, MPV and SMPlayer video players.

Additionally, the Abiword word processor, Pamac package manager, Terminology terminal emulator, QISOUSB Live USB creator, LXTask task manager, and tools like Galculator, XSensors, and Chroot are also installed by default.
