Stop searching for quirky editing apps for your GoPro

GoPro president Tony Bates has revealed to the company's investors that his team is working on an app that will allow users to edit GoPro footage on their phones or tablets.

Editing videos filmed on GoPros isn't an easy task, and it always requires post-processing and desktop editing to make the footage look great and to really catch people's attention.

Because it is a bit of a nuisance and most GoPro users never really end up editing their videos, Tony Bates has decided that a really simple and easy-to-learn app should be introduced on mobile platforms so that users could easily turn their incredible footage in entertainment material.

Apparently, this app is already in the works and is passing through its final testing phase, and it could be launched by the end of summer. What's more, another GoPro feature that will generate highlight reels based on uploaded videos could come very soon. Videos don't really need to be filmed by GoPros in this case, as every camera could benefit from this feature once its footage has been uploaded on GoPro's cloud video service.

It seems that the final cloud service feature will come with fully online editing features that will make videos to more easily and fluently fit the soundtrack you choose for them.

TechCrunch admits that there are some pretty good video editing apps out there that already do an incredible job of auto-editing a user's footage without requiring them to look for GoPro format compatible apps to edit a five-minute clip.

Considering that GoPro is doing better and better financially, it is very likely that this online editing tool will come around soon enough to allow all GoPro users enjoy it before winter.
