GoPro's portfolio has just gotten a little bigger these days, and now their models have gotten from Hero4 Black as their top-end camera to Hero+ LCD as their cheapest camera yet.

The new model will now be part of the lower-entry cameras and will squeeze between the bottom two. As the name suggests, it will be placed between Hero4 Session and Hero+LCD. Being $70 more expensive than the cheapest GoPro, the Hero is priced at $130. You may ask, however, what on earth you would get additionally for those 70 bucks. Well, you'd get some fancy stuff like Wi-Fi and significantly upgraded shooting modes.

While the Hero will top only at 1080p 30fps, the Hero+ will get that resolution to 60fps and it can also offer options for SuperView, a filming mode that crams more into the top and bottom of your shot, which will "fake" a super-wide image without actually offering any true wide lenses. This little feature will help a lot in board sports and POV video. Some more cool stuff is that, instead of having a 5MP camera, you'll have an 8MP, and yes, you can film pretty OK at night, as it has auto low-light mode.

All these additional features can be worth those extra $70

What the Wi-Fi feature means - and why it's the main feature of the camera - is that users can actually stream their filmed footage from the camera straight to their phones, so in case you have lots of memory free in your phone or some extra storage space device attached, you can forget of buying an extra-large SD card for your Hero+

The new camera looks just like the small Hero and can be mounted on most GoPro mounts and accessories, too but the lack of battery removal might be a problem for some long-shooting sessions. The new GoPro Hero+ will apparently be available starting October 4 for $200.
