Huawei and GoPro have just announced they have teamed up to bring the latter's Quik mobile video editing app to the former's new flagship smartphones, the P10 and P10 Plus.

The new application will be integrated within the photo Gallery of the two Huawei smartphones, which ship with Android 7.0 Nougat and EMUI 5.1 version. According to GoPro, its Quik mobile app will be introduced on other Huawei smartphones that run the company's new Emotion UI 5.1.

The Quik mobile video editing application will allow users to create videos with just a few taps. The application analyzes all photos and videos in order to find the best moments. Then, it automatically generates a video complete with transitions and effects synced to the beat of the included songs or the songs you want.

Moreover, those obsessed by photos and videos can further customize their edits with slow motion effects, filters, and much more.

The Quik app transforms your smartphone photos and videos into amazing edits with the press of a button. We're excited to partner with Huawei to bring GoPro's Quik app to Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus devices, amongst others, providing them with a quick and easy way to share compelling stories on-the-go,” says GoPro Founder and CEO, Nick Woodman.

If you plan on getting either of the two Huawei smartphones announced yesterday, the P10 or P10 Plus, you will find Quik in the photo gallery. Look for a new feature called “Highlights” which should automatically select photos and videos for you.

With the help of this feature, and a tap of a button, Quik can generate a video synced to the beat of the selected music, as mentioned earlier.

All videos made via Quik can then be shared or further customize with filters, transitions, effects, and so on.
