Google announced today an Android Enterprise Recommended program for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as other organizations that want to invest in Android-powered devices for their employees.

Google's Android Enterprise Recommended program promises to make it easier for businesses to select, deploy and manage Android devices and services for their organizations with confidence, which can sometimes be a hard task due to the thousands of devices available on the market.

"With more than 2 billion active devices worldwide, Android provides great choice and diversity for users and businesses alike. But with so many options available, enterprise IT organizations around the world often ask: “Which Android devices are right for my organization?"," says David Still, Director, Android Enterprise.

If you've ever wondered what kind of Android devices to buy for your organization, Google's Android Enterprise Recommended program will make things easier by showing you a list of smartphones that are suited for your needs, so you know you're investing in the right technology.

Helps you find Google validated devices and carries

The Android Enterprise Recommended program not only displays a list of Android smartphones that are best suited for your needs, but it'll also suggest mobile carries and other services you might need for your Android devices from top partners that have been validated by Google to meet the rigorous requirement of enterprises.

Android Enterprise Recommended will only list devices that meet the minimum hardware requirements, offer regular security and operating system updates no longer than 90 days after upstream release, and streamlines bulk deployment methods of Android devices, such as zero-touch enrollment.

Only devices running Android 7.0 "Nougat" or later will be listed by Google's Android Enterprise Recommended program, which also shows availability of unlocked devices directly from manufactures and smartphones that offer a consistent Android app experience in managed profiles.

The first enterprise-ready devices are Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, and Pixel 2 XL, Nokia 8, Motorola X4 and Z2, LG V30 and G6, BlackBerry KEYone and Motion, Sony Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact, XZ Premium, XA2, and XA2 Ultra, as well as Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, P10, P10 Plus, P10 Lite, and P smart.

Google promises to add more devices to its Android Enterprise Recommended program in the coming months and says that it will apply the Android Enterprise Recommended framework to more partner types throughout 2018.
