Google brought major changes to the “My Apps” section

Google has brought a major change to the Play Store UI on Android-running devices, by redesigning the “My Apps” section and rearranging the list of applications installed on the smartphone or tablet. Google has removed the Subscriptions tabs under the “My Apps” section and updates are no longer displayed under the “Installed” tab.

To make it easier to see which installed applications have available updates, Google created a separate tab named Updates, which includes information like available updates, when they were rolled out by developers, most recently updated apps, and when they received updates. Apps with the most recent available updates are displayed at the top.

The Installed tab shows a list of all applications found on the device, and Google added a feature for arranging them in Alphabetical order, by Last updated, Last used or Size. In this way, you can spot applications that you use rarely and uninstall them, thus freeing up space on your phone. The new features make it easier to manage applications on your smartphone and determine which one takes up the most space and which is used the least.

All tab becomes Library, while Beta tab stays the same

Google also renamed the “All” tab to “Library,” but this section’s purpose is the same. It shows users a list of previously installed applications under this particular Google account, regardless of the device on which they were downloaded and installed. It’s worth mentioning that any app entry can be removed from the Library list.

The only tab under the “My Apps” section that Google hasn’t changed is the “Beta” tab, which continues to show installed applications that use Beta builds and offers a quick shortcut to their Play store listing.

The new update to the Play Store has already rolled out to users from all over the world, and it should reach everybody in the coming days. To trigger the update, you could simply restart your smartphone and then access the Play Store or just wait for the update to reach your device.
