14 DAY TRIAL // It's not a secret that Google is not the biggest supporter of Windows platforms, and as far as Windows 8 and Windows Phone are concerned, the search company has become some a sort of enemy of Microsoft, refusing to bring its apps on these two OS versions.
Right now, Google has only one app on Windows 8.1, Windows Phone, and Windows 10, but all of a sudden, this app has received an update today, as Microsoft-News reports.
The Google Search app, which does exactly what its name suggests, has received a bunch of improvements today, which makes many wonder if the company is ready to bring more of its services on Windows 10, including Gmail and YouTube.
Material design
Unsurprisingly, there's no change log provided for this new version of the Google search app, but the first thing you should notice if you install the app is the new material design that brings it in line with other programs and services belonging to the search company.
Google Search now looks and feels more modern and fresh thanks to this UI overhaul and seems fully prepared for Windows 10 and its new design approach.
Other than that, the feature lineup appears to be mostly unchanged, and there's no new addition to this, which means that Google focused exclusively on making the app look better.
Obviously, everyone wants to know if Google is indeed ready to bring more of its apps on Windows 10, and some believe that this update is the beginning of a broader rollout that would include universal apps for most of its services.
Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella has indeed confirmed that his company is working with Google to bring its apps on Windows 10, but it's not known if an agreement has been reached and if the search giant is ready to make this big step towards Redmond's new platform.
In the meantime, you should have a look at the new Google Search app and pray to get more of Google's services on Windows 10 as soon as possible.
