Luckily, this isn't a hardware issue after all

Although the Pixel phones are pretty good devices overall, some of them have been affected by various issues since their launch on the market. One of the most recent discovered bugs is related to the volume and seems to affect both the Pixel and Pixel XL phones.

If you're not up to date with the audio bug on the Pixel phones, then you should know that some owners have noticed that their phones cause static distortion at high volume settings.

However, some noticed that the issue is only caused when using certain apps, while others said they could not replicate the bug on their Pixel phones.

A few days ago Google admitted this was a hardware issue and offered the person who discovered the bug a full refund with the return of their Pixel XL phone.

Fast forward a few days and Google changed its mind and now claims that this isn't a hardware issue after all, but a software-related one that will be fixed in a future update.

During a conversation with a Pixel owner who has found that the audio bug affects his smartphone too, a Google rep said that the company has already identified the problem as a known issue and is working to resolve it, along with a few others.

The only good news here is that this isn't a hardware issue and that Google is working on a fix. Sadly, there's no telling when exactly Google's engineers will manage to fix the problem, nor when the update addressing the issue will be pushed to Pixel and Pixel XL.

Both Pixel phones, but also some other Nexus smartphones have been plagued by a couple of issues following the release of the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update.

Some of them have already been acknowledged by Google and will be fixed soon, while others have yet to be replicated by the search giant's engineers.
