Don't jump on the hype train yet, specs are still confusing

Hidden in the unnamed lists of the US FCC or Federal Communications Commission Google prepares a new version of Google Glass.

One of the most interesting ways to actually sneak upon prototypes and secret upcoming gadgets is to shuffle through lists of unnamed gadgets, inventions and all sorts of objects that have to pass the Commission's approval of safe wireless radio signals.

The guys at Droid-Life did that and found some interesting things. A new product was introduced yesterday that goes by the prototype name as FCC ID A4R-GG1. Do you think the GG sounds familiar? It might very well come from a future Google Glass.

Although looking at the schematics, there is not much we can tell except having connectivity features that must include some sort of radio or wireless communication, we also have to keep in mind that this is not labeled as a smartphone, tablet or media device.

Impressive specs, wrong device?

It has an 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth LE and a built-in rechargeable battery so it clearly means it's portable. Also, the product is said to arrive with AC charger and USB cable that provides a "path for charging and data transfer."

Also found in the documents is the e-label that is placed in the settings menu of the device, and swiping through it will cause the black e-label to appear. When found, it does look like the aspect ratio of Google Glass. However, some question will need answers.

One of them is why would you need to swipe on a Google Glass and why would it need rechargeable batteries. A better Wi-Fi connection would be more than necessary, but why would a Bluetooth connection be necessary even on products like, say Chromecast?

We can conclude that the new device is portable, has a strong Wi-Fi connection, a touchscreen somehow, and is not labeled as a smartphone.

Let rumors go wild. We could be incredibly wrong about this and be just some unimpressive touchscreen non-mobile thingy, or Google is bringing an entirely new sort of Google Glass that will need rechargeable batteries.
