Google is constantly bringing new features and tools to its proprietary applications, especially to the Duo and Allo app, which recently received a new update. But Google is preparing new features for Allo, an update that would allow users to snap quick selfies.

The Mountain View company is working on bringing a new feature to its Allo application and adding a new camera icon to the side of the text entry field, according to a report. The Quick Selfie feature would allow users to tap on the new icon and the shutter button to send selfies to friends and family.

Allo will also offer users the option to delete the photo if they’re not pleased with the result and take another one instead. After sending the selfie, the image appears in the standard message feed in a small circle.

Back up and restore conversations in Allo

The quick selfie feature isn’t the only tool that Google is currently working on, as the tech giant could also provide Allo users with the option to back up and restore conversations. The feature isn’t live yet, but it might arrive in the next Allo update.

Aside from this, Google will be adding a new feature that allows Allo users to add stickers on top of a photo. The app will most likely receive a new sticker button and users would be able to pick from stickers that can already be sent in regular chats.

There’s also evidence of an incognito feature in groups, so users could read group messages without letting others know. These new features aren’t live yet, and Google could bring them gradually in future Allo app updates; some of them, however, might not make it to the app.

Recently, Google updated its messaging application Allo with file sharing options for users to send PDF, music files and archives to others. In addition, a Smart Smileys feature was added, which uses machine learning to suggest appropriate emojis and stickers based on previous messages. Duo also expanded and got audio-only calls, aside from the video calls that the app can perform.
