According to a report from Android Police, it looks like Google’s next Pixel XL smartphone, which could be unveiled later this year, will have the same basic design as the current model, but with some notable changes.

On the front, the smartphone appears to have thinner bezels, and a smaller body. It will feature a 6-inch flat AMOLED display that seems to have curved glass at the edges, which you can squeeze to activate certain features that Google will implement in the upcoming Android 8.0 "Oreo" mobile operating system.

On the back, the fingerprint scanner is located under the glass "window" at the top of the phone, according to Android Police, most probably because the window itself appears to be a lot smaller than on the current Pixel XL model, and the rear camera is now considerably bigger that that of previous Google Pixel smartphones.

LG is rumored to produce the AMOLED display of the 2017 Pixel XL

Overall, the design of the 2017 Pixel XL smartphone doesn't stray too far from its predecessors, yet you can see that there are some essential changes that are normal to happen considering we live in an era of technology where all hardware manufactures struggle to bring us the latest innovations on the market.

Of course, many questions remain open for discussion, because we can't tell from a single image if the device is water- and dust-proof, or what processor and RAM or storage options will be available, but one thing is for sure, Google will launch the 2nd generation Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones this fall.

Most definitely the device will be powered by Android O, which Google plans to release in Q3 2017, and it could also be accompanied by a smaller model, the successor of the 2016 Google Pixel phone, yet no evidence is available to suggest this.
