Today, Google started rolling out an Android 7.1.2 Nougat beta 2 update to eligible devices, including the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Nexus Player. The new update carries build number NPG47I and will reach users in the Android Beta Program.

Google has recently said that Android 7.1.2 is an “incremental maintenance update focused on polishing and refinements,” including “bug fixes and optimizations, along with a small number of enhancements for carriers and users.”

Therefore, Android 7.1.2 beta 2 comes with new features for Google Nexus 6P, users can finally swipe down on the fingerprint sensor to check their notifications, much like users of Pixel smartphones. The feature can be enabled by accessing the Settings menu and heading over to Moves.

Once there, users can switch the toggle next to the Swipe for Notifications option. The feature was made available to Nexus 5X owners last month, when the first beta version of Android 7.1.2 Nougat started hitting Pixel and Nexus phones.

But this isn’t the only feature that Android 7.1.2 beta 2 brings. Pixel C finally received the Pixel Launcher in the latest update, as well as Pixel-style navigation buttons. The Pixel Launcher looks a bit different on a tablet, but it does have all the features and customization tools found on Pixel phones.

Although Google added Pixel-style navigation buttons to the Pixel C, the home button is a bit different and only shows a single circle instead of the bullseye on the Pixel phones. The reason for a change in home button style on Pixel C is related to the fact that Google didn’t roll out Assistant to tablets and, sadly, it doesn’t intend to do so in the future.

The final release of the latest Android 7.1.2 Nougat version should arrive in a couple of months, Google recently stated.
