The feature is available only in some countries for now

Studies have shown that people only need a few minutes to decide whether they like an app and will keep it on their phones or remove it completely and not look back. In the case of free apps, if you don’t like an app and decide to remove it, the app would have cost you some time at most. But when it comes to paid apps, the situation is a bit different, considering money is involved.

Google has started to roll out a new feature to the Play store, one which would allow users to try apps and games for 10 minutes before deciding to purchase them. Needless to say, this is a very useful feature and many users will appreciate the opportunity to check out an app or game before paying and installing it on their phones.

For now, the feature only appears to be available in some countries, including the United States. PhoneArena reported that a Try Now button appears next to the Buy Button for apps that offer the 10-minute free trial.

Once it’s pressed, the application starts streaming to the smartphone for the duration of 10 minutes. However, you should know that the application doesn’t record the last session, so you can’t play a game for ten minutes and then continue your progress later.

Google might make the feature available to other countries soon

There’s also a floating button that opens a menu displaying how much streaming time is left and more details about the application. Apparently, there doesn’t seem to be a limit of how many times users can stream an app.

The app streaming feature is available as a limited test on just a few markets, devices, and only for games. The feature will most likely be expanded to other countries as well, but Google has yet to announce when that will actually happen.

The company might disclose some details about this feature during today’s unveiling event for the Pixel and Pixel XL, scheduled to start in just a few hours.
