The latest update for both its Android and iOS applications brings a few new features and improvements, but the most important one is the fact that Google Play Music now has a free, ad-supported version in the United States.
According to developers, Google's team of music experts “including the folks who created Songza, crafts each station song by song so you don’t have to.
“If you’re looking for something specific, you can browse our curated stations by genre, mood, decade or activity, or you can search for your favorite artist, album or song to instantly create a station of similar music.”
The latest version of Google Play Music comes with more controls over what albums and playlists are sent to an Android Wear device.
Basically, Google has added a new “Manage Wear downloads” option right below the box to “Download to Android Wear.”
Opening this new setting will get you to the page where you can see the storage state of your Android Wear watch, along with the playlists or albums that you've been downloading and which are now available for transfer.
With or without subscription you can store up to 50,000 songs
If you want to send an album or playlist, then you can simply tap on the playlist and it will be immediately sent.
Google also mentioned that with or without a subscription, users would be able to store up to 50,000 songs from their collections for free.
You can now download Google Play Music for Android for free via Google Play store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.
For iOS users, the application can be downloaded via App Store. It should work smoother on all devices powered by iOS 7 or later.
