Google is expected to announce new Pixel smartphones this year and it seems that one of the devices just hit GFXBench, as spotted by Roland Quandt. The alleged Pixel XL 2 smartphone appears to run Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 platform.

The smartphone is expected to be announced later this year, possibly in October. Some of the phone’s specs were revealed in the listing, including the fact that it will feature a 5.6-inch display with 2560 x 1312 pixel resolution. The screen resolution is a bit atypical, so take the information with a grain of salt.

Moving on, the smartphone appears to run the latest Snapdragon 835 platform, found in many flagship and premium devices released this year. RAM capacity is at 4GB, while internal storage reaches 100GB; most likely the final product will have a memory of 128GB.

The listing also reveals a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front sensor, although previous rumors suggested that the smartphone could come with a dual-camera setup on the back. The Pixel XL 2 phone also seems to run Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Google is most likely testing a prototype of the upcoming Pixel XL phone and these specifications could possibly change in the final device, as it often happens. Recently, an alleged render of the Pixel 2 surfaced suggesting a dual-camera setup on the back of the phone.

At the time of its launch last year, Google’s Pixel had the best smartphone camera in the world, ranking on the top position in the reference DxO Mark scale. Google will most likely make improvements in the camera department for the new Pixel phones and make sure that they top the chart once again, after they were recently dethroned by HTC’s U11.

Aside from this, upcoming Pixel phones could feature metal and glass back panels and they might ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack, but that remains to be seen. Google is expected to announce three new Pixel devices running Android O this fall.
