Samsung acknowledged the issue and works hard to fix it

If you happen to own a Google Pixel phone and decided to go for Samsung's Gear S3 as well, then you're pretty much one of the unluckiest people in the smartphone industry.

After paying a small fortune on both devices, the South Korean handset maker now confirms that its Samsung Pay mobile payment system on the Gear S3 smartwatch doesn't work with either of the two Pixel phones.

The issue is common and widespread in the United States where both Samsung Pay and Google Pixel phones are present. Samsung has even acknowledged the problem and stated that it's “constantly working to expand Samsung Pay to new devices.”

That's quite strange considering the fact that Samsung Pay should have worked with the Gear S3 out of the box. However, the problem might lie with the Google Pixel phones since these are the only devices that don't work with Samsung's payment service when using the Gear S3 smartwatch.

Whenever you try to install the Samsung Pay on the Pixel XL or on the normal version of the phone, you will instantly receive an error: “installation failed.” That's because Samsung Pay on the Gear S3 is not available with Pixel devices, the handset maker announced.

The fact that Pixel phones come with the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the box seems to cause users more issues rather than provide them with more functionality and productivity features.

Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch recently made its debut in the United States where it can be bought at all major carriers in the country. It wouldn't look too good for Samsung if many customers who purchased the smartwatch return it.

In case you've already bought the Gear S3 and planned to use it with your Pixel phone, do you plan on returning it? Or maybe you're willing to wait until Samsung adds support for additional devices sooner or later?
