Google is expected to announce two new smartphones on October 4, the Pixel and Pixel XL, rebranded from Nexus Sailfish and Marlin. Specs and even images of the upcoming smartphones have been leaking for some time now. It seems that another image of the Pixel has made its way on the Internet recently.

Evan Blass and VentureBeat leaked the image showing the front panel of the Pixel smartphone running Android 7.1 Nougat. The picture also reveals the Pixel Launcher installed on Google's upcoming smartphones.

The Pixel Launcher replaces the Google search bar on the home screen with a G logo that expands when tapped on it. It also lacks the app drawer shortcut, and the list of all installed apps can be accessed by swiping up. This way, there's some space left for an extra app shortcut to replace the app drawer icon.

Apart from that, the Pixel Launcher comes with some additional UI changes, especially in the app drawer section.

Google Pixel could come with 4GB of RAM and a 12MP rear camera

The image shows the design of the upcoming smartphone with the power button on the side, on top of the volume locker. Specs of the upcoming Pixel smartphone have leaked some time ago and indicate that the device would come with a 5-inch, 1080 pixel resolution display and run a quad-core 2.0GHz 64-bit processor, possibly the Snapdragon 820 or 821 CPU.

The smartphone created together with HTC is said to have 4GB of RAM and a 12MP rear camera, with an 8MP unit in the front. Internal memory could reach 32GB and the smartphone is expected to have IP53 certification.

Pricing for Google's Pixel could start at $649, while the Pixel XL will have a higher price tag considering that it might sport a larger display of 5.5-inches. Google's Pixel XL could also come with a more powerful battery of 3,450mAh, but both smartphones will run Android 7.1 Nougat.

Google will host an event on October 4, when the company is also expected to preview Andromeda, a hybrid between Android and Chrome OS.
