Google is expected to unveil two upcoming smartphones next month, the Pixel and Pixel XL, developed in partnership with HTC. The specs for the two smartphones have already surfaced online, together with renders and live images.

Twitter user @iamaniff shared two images of some 3D renderings showing what the Pixel and Pixel XL could look like. The images were shared on Reddit, where it seems that users weren't too keen on the renders that only showed the back of the upcoming Pixel smartphones.

These new 3D renders are based on previously leaked live images of the upcoming smartphones. They don't seem to show the flash on the rear camera, but the G logo is still visible on the back. However, the images seem to suggest that the two smartphones have the same size, although Pixel is said to come with a smaller display compared to Pixel XL.

It's difficult to say at this point if the renders perfectly depict the design of the upcoming phones, but they do offer us an idea of how Google's next smartphones could look.

Pixel and Pixel XL could come with IP53 certification

Details on the specs of the two phones have been leaking for some time now, with Pixel rumored to come with a 5.2-5.3-inch display with Full HD resolution and 4GB of RAM.

The smartphone could also run Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 processor and have a rear camera capacity of 12MP, with an 8MP unit in the front.

Pixel XL is said to have a larger display, of 5.5 inches, with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution and come with 4GB of RAM as well. It could include a Snapdragon 821 SoC, making it one of the first smartphones in the US with the latest processor model from Qualcomm.

The two smartphones are expected to come with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, as well as Pixel Launcher and Google Assistant. In addition, they are said to have IP53 certification, which means they're protected from water splashes and dust.
